Smiling woman with clear aligner

Invisalign

Crooked, gapped, and misaligned teeth can affect the health and appearance of your smile. Clear aligners like Invisalign® and ClearCorrect™ can discreetly straighten your teeth without bulky wires and brackets. Dr. Jason Collier can develop a customized ClearCorrect treatment plan for Memphis, TN, patients to create a beautifully straight smile.

How Do Clear Aligners Work? By Gently Shifting Your Teeth

/

Aligners like Invisalign and ClearCorrect work by gently shifting your teeth into alignment over 8-14 months with proper wear. You will receive several sets of aligners that should be worn two weeks at a time and for at least 22 hours a day.

Why Do Patients Prefer Clear Aligners to Braces? They Are a Discreet and Comfortable Alternative

Many patients prefer ClearCorrect or Invisalign treatment over traditional braces for multiple reasons:

Undetectable

The clear plastic aligners fit perfectly over your teeth and are virtually undetectable while wearing.

Comfortable

Unlike the wires and brackets of traditional braces that can rub on your cheeks, aligners like Invisalign and ClearCorrect are made of smooth plastic, making them a more comfortable alternative.

Removable

Traditional braces are secured to your teeth and can only be removed by a trained orthodontist or dentist. While clear aligners need to be worn at least 22 hours a day, they can easily be removed while eating and cleaning your teeth.

Effective

Aligners are just as effective as traditional braces at correcting mild-to-moderate misalignment issues. Thanks to ClearCorrect engagers that add additional pressure, our dentist can achieve more complex tooth movement to address more severe misalignment cases than ever before.

Do I Need to See an Orthodontist for Treatment? No! Our Dentist Is Certified to Handle Your Care

One of the benefits of aligners like Invisalign and ClearCorrect is that you don't need to see an orthodontist to undergo treatment. Dr. Collier is a certified ClearCorrect provider who can handle every aspect of your treatment, from plan creation to check-ins and aftercare. Existing patients can see a dentist they trust, and new patients can enjoy the benefits of a straightened smile without finding an orthodontist. Contact our practice near Memphis, TN, to learn more.

The Cost of Not Getting Treatment Future Dental Work and a Higher Price Tag

When left untreated, misalignment can have a devastating effect on your oral health. Invisalign, ClearCorrect, and other orthodontics can prevent future dental issues from forming and potentially reduce your overall spending. Early ClearCorrect and Invisalign treatment can help prevent:

Tooth Decay

Misalignment can make it difficult to floss and brush all surfaces of your teeth properly. Improper oral hygiene can lead to cavities, tooth loss, and more, which can have a major impact on your oral health and wallet.

Damaged Teeth

A crooked smile can lead to excess wear on your teeth and result in chips, cracks, and added strain on your jaw muscles. Damaged teeth can lead to future dental work that can be more expensive than Invisalign treatment.

TMJ

When your teeth are not properly aligned, your bite may not be either. A misaligned bite (malocclusion) can lead to temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ), a painful condition that can take multiple years and treatments to resolve.

What Is the Clear Aligner Process? A Treatment Timeline of What to Expect

The first step toward a straighter smile is to contact our Memphis and Mid-South area practice and request your aligner consultation.
With proper wear, you can have a straighter smile in one year!
With proper wear, you can have a straighter smile in one year!

Consultation

During your consultation, Dr. Collier will assess your oral health and the alignment of your teeth. He will then take either digital or traditional impressions of your mouth. These impressions will be used to create your customized treatment plan.

Tray Fabrication

Your impressions and Dr. Collier's treatment plan will be sent to a trusted lab so they can create your custom trays.

Receive Your Trays

Once your aligners have been created, you can come pick them up at our Cordova office and receive instructions on proper wear.

Wear your Aligners

Patients are advised to wear their aligners for 22 hours a day for two weeks until switching to the next set of trays.

Follow-Up Appointments

You will come back to our Memphis and Mid-South area office every 2-3 weeks so Dr. Collier can ensure your teeth are shifting properly.

Complete Treatment

Depending on your case, you could have a new smile in 8-14 months. Dr. Collier will fit you with a retainer to wear at night to ensure your smile remains straight for a lifetime.

How Should I Care for My Aligners? Continue Good Oral Hygiene Habits

Because they are removable, caring for your Invisalign or ClearCorrect aligners is far easier than caring for traditional braces. Dr. Collier will give you care instructions, but most patients should expect to follow these guidelines:

Brush and Floss

Continue to brush your teeth twice daily and floss once daily throughout treatment. Your Invisalign or ClearCorrect aligners can be removed during your oral care.

Clean Your Aligners

Clean your Invisalign or ClearCorrect aligners with the branded solution or a denture cleaner. You can also use a soft-bristle toothbrush and mild soap.

Keep Your Aligners Safe

One of the major benefits of these orthodontic solutions is that they are removable. However, this also makes them easier to damage or lose. Keep your clear aligners in a safe place whenever they are not being worn.

Contact Our Office

Contact our Memphis practice if you accidentally lose, misplace, or damage your aligners. Dr. Collier will advise you on next steps and determine if a new aligner needs to be made for you to stay on your treatment timeline.
